Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using ShankLab at shanklab.golf, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. ShankLab is operated by Holy Schmitt Studios. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our service.

2. Description of Service

ShankLab is an AI-powered golf swing analysis platform. Users upload video frames of their golf swing, tag swing phases, and receive AI-generated analysis including scores, identified flaws, recommended drills, and practice plans. The analysis is generated by artificial intelligence and should be used as supplementary guidance, not as a replacement for professional golf instruction.

3. Accounts

You must create an account to use ShankLab. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Subscription Plans

ShankLab offers the following plans:

• Free: Up to 3 swing analyses per calendar month.
• Pro ($4.99/month): Up to 100 swing analyses per calendar month, priority features, and full practice plan history.

Unused analyses do not roll over to the next month. Subscription fees are billed monthly through Stripe and are non-refundable except where required by law.

5. Cancellation

You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal accessible from your Settings page. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period, after which your account will revert to the Free plan.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you upload to ShankLab, including swing videos and frame captures. By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the service. We do not claim ownership of your swing data or analysis results.

You may optionally opt in to our Data Contribution Program through your Golfer Profile settings. If you opt in, your swing videos will be anonymized (faces blurred, personal information removed) and may be used to improve our AI analysis technology. This is entirely voluntary and can be reversed at any time. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

7. AI Analysis Disclaimer

ShankLab's swing analysis is generated by artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude). While we strive for accuracy, AI analysis has limitations and may not always be correct. ShankLab is not a substitute for professional golf instruction, medical advice, or physical therapy. You use the analysis at your own risk. We are not responsible for any injury or damage resulting from following AI-generated drills or practice plans.

8. Sharing

When you share an analysis using the Share feature, a public link is generated that allows anyone with the link to view that specific analysis, including your swing frame images and AI commentary. You are responsible for deciding what you share. Shared links can be revoked by deleting the analysis.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the AI analysis system
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use automated tools to submit analyses beyond your plan limits
• Upload content that is not related to golf swing analysis

10. Limitation of Liability

ShankLab and Holy Schmitt Studios shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page. Continued use of ShankLab after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
