Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using ShankLab — at shanklab.golf or through the ShankLab iOS app — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. ShankLab is operated by Holy Schmitt Studios LLC, an Illinois limited liability company. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our service.

2. Description of Service

ShankLab is a golf coaching platform. You can log rounds (hole by hole, by total score, or by scanning a paper scorecard), build course-specific game plans, answer short post-round debriefs that shape your next plan, track a round live as you play, analyze your swing from video, and ask questions in a coach chat. Coaching output is generated by artificial intelligence and should be used as supplementary guidance, not as a replacement for professional golf instruction.

3. Accounts

You must create an account to use ShankLab. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

4. Subscription Plans

ShankLab offers the following plans:

• Free: Round logging and history, up to 5 game plans per calendar month, up to 3 swing analyses per calendar month, up to 15 coach chat messages per calendar month (swing comparisons draw from the same allowance), and a preview of the round analysis for rounds logged with hole-by-hole detail, for up to 30 rounds per calendar month.
• Pro ($4.99/month): Everything in Free, plus unlimited game plans and coach chat, up to 100 swing analyses per calendar month, the full analysis of every round logged with hole-by-hole detail, live round tracking, and Coach's Notes.

Unused monthly allowances do not roll over. We may adjust plan limits and pricing; material changes will be reflected on this page before they take effect. Subscription fees are billed monthly through Stripe and are non-refundable except where required by law.

5. Cancellation

You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal accessible from your Settings page. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period, after which your account will revert to the Free plan.

6. User Content

You retain ownership of all content you add to ShankLab — rounds, notes, debrief answers, chat messages, swing videos and frames, and scorecard photos. By adding content, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display it solely for the purpose of providing the service. We do not claim ownership of your golf data or coaching results, and we do not use your content to train artificial-intelligence models.

7. Coaching Disclaimer

All coaching output — game plans, round analysis, swing analysis, drills, and chat replies — is generated by artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude). While we strive for accuracy, it has limitations and may not always be correct. ShankLab is not a substitute for professional golf instruction, medical advice, or physical therapy, and a game plan does not account for on-course conditions or safety — your judgment on the course always comes first. You use the coaching at your own risk. We are not responsible for any injury or damage resulting from following it.

8. Sharing

When you share an analysis using the Share feature, a public link is generated that allows anyone with the link to view that specific analysis, including your swing frame images and coaching commentary. You are responsible for deciding what you share. Shared links expire automatically after a period of time, and can be revoked sooner by deleting the analysis.

9. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others
• Upload content you do not have the right to share
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service or its coaching systems
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use automated tools to exceed your plan's limits
• Upload content unrelated to your golf

10. Limitation of Liability

ShankLab and Holy Schmitt Studios LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page. Continued use of ShankLab after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
